I am a documentary filmmaker, journalist and educator based in East Asia for 40 years (20 in Japan, followed by 20 in China.) My interests are in raising awareness about "us and themism" (othering and belonging, racism, classism, sexism etc.) and media literacy and critical thinking in authoritarian societies. My film, writing and educational projects include teaching AI and the Future of Society and cross-cultural filmmaking. I've worked with graduate students from 30 countries to make short films in China. https://www.nytimes.com/2014/08/24/movies/nowhere-to-call-home-examines-prejudices.html
