Vivian Chime is a Report for the World corps member with TheCable covering climate change. Her journalism career started as a student journalist at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where she received a BA in Mass Communication. She has been a graduate trainee with the national newspaper The New Telegraph and a legislative correspondent and on-air presenter with the urban radio station Sparkling 92.3 FM in Calabar. She has also worked as a freelance writer for Premium Times and Ripples Nigeria. She is a recipient of grants by the Maternal Figures and International Center for Investigative Reporting and was a global media mentorship fellow with Climate Tracker. Her stories have won her international recognition, including the International Center for Journalists Global Health Crisis Reporting award. Vivian was also one of the awardees for the best fact-check reports through the 2020 Dubawa fellowship. Vivian is passionate about journalism because of the power it wields in creating a better and functional society.
